Thank You Erin for staying so calm!

Last Monday I was trying to cut one of those stupid hard plastic things that are impossible to remove and they like to put them on children's toys, and I sliced my thumb! As soon as it happened I started to hyperventilate, but some how got to the sink, and called Dan at work and didn't get blood anywhere but in the sink. I couldn't talk very well so I gave the phone to Erin (I am so happy she didn't have school that day). Erin calmly told Dan that I had cut my thumb and it was bleeding. He told her to run to the neighbors and get some help while he was on his way home. Well no school day no one stays home. Dan decided to call 911 and then he would hurry home. Erin and Tyler were still very calm and watched out the window for the EMT's to come. As soon as they got there they ran outside and told them I was inside. Them EMT's wrapped my thumb up and helped me to start breathing normal again. They said I would need to go to the ER and get some stitches. Dan got home soon after and we decided to drive instead of me going in the ambulance. Well I had to get 14 stitches! I couldn't watch but Dan told me that my thumb looked like Frankenstein! I went into the doctor today and had them taken out. I heard they hurt worse to take them out. I guess I hit some nerves so I didn't feel much. The doctor said the nerves will heal in my thumb will pretty much be back to normal. Guess what thumb I cut....yep my left! For some reason I like everything to happen on my left...my head, my arm, and now my thumb!
(Here's something funny, they thing I was trying to open was a fire truck!)

OH MY GOSH!! OWIE OWIE OWIE!!!! I absolutely positively hate those stupid plastic things! They are close to IMPOSSIBLE to open!! I saw this tool that is made especially to open them on some info-merial and I almost called & ordered it!! Infact, I'm still debating it!!

I hope your wound heals fast! I hope that fire truck was worth it! LOL

Great job Erin for taking care of your Mommy!

Ohhh, I'm so sorry! That's terrible! I hate those plastic things. And opening "The Littliest Petshop" toys with all those tiny rubberbands - RIDICULOUS!!! And of course fragile lightbulbs are packaged in nothing but some light cardboard.

Kinda funny, I like to hurt my right side. My right eye, right knee, and I recently broke my right little toe!
